Website and Branding Refresh: Functional Creative Editorial
Functional Creative Editorial, a provider of bespoke seminars and communication support for team development and growth, wanted to provide enhanced information about their services and attract new clients.
They approached SolarPunk Digital with an objective of breathing new life into their digital presence. To achieve their objective, we embarked on a comprehensive project spanning multiple stages - from brand conceptualization, to website development, to graphic design and the execution of SEO best practices.

Our journey began with a crucial stage of branding and content creation.
We devoted significant effort into sculpting the perfect look and feel for the FCE website, and subsequently produced prototypes to bring this vision to life. FCE's Director was actively involved in this stage, providing invaluable inputs in the form of content and branding ideas. Our team provided FCE with both a detailed questionnaire on how they wanted the website to look and function, as well as a series of inspiring websites and ideas to further solidify their vision.
Drawing from the rich insights provided during our discussions, as well as elements of their current website design, we came up with four unique branding variations. Each variant comprised a unique blend of logo, typography, colour palette, and iconography, with a prototype of the homepage designed in the respective branding. We also presented a prototype of the Services page, allowing FCE to visualize the page structure and make revisions as necessary.
At this stage, FCE settled on the mountain-and-quill logo design which we produced, solidifying the company's mission and energy into a unique and eye-catching image.
This collaborative process aimed at fine-tuning the design and structure, ensuring that it resonated with their vision and goals.
Our design process.
Our building process.
Following the conceptualization and approval of the design, we entered the coding and implementation phase. We maintained open lines of communication, keeping the company updated about any elements that were more time-intensive.
We built upon the first version of the website, taking care to keep the elements that FCE had specified in our meetings and in the website questionnaire, and adjusting or updating other elements as necessary. We added new pages such as the Services page, and removed other pages which were no longer serving the website. We also completely revamped the homepage structure and the branding of the FCE website.
Our results.
The website, adorned with fresh branding, pages, and content specified during our kick-off meeting, was completed.
The successful completion of this project underscored our commitment to offering personalized, efficient, and aesthetically pleasing solutions to our clients, helping them meet their objectives and achieve digital success.
I hired Solar Punk Digital to build a new website for Functional Creative Editorial, and was immediately impressed with the level of care and detail they put into the process. From the very beginning, the Solar Punk team communicated all of the objectives and the overall plan clearly and cohesively. Ultimately, the team delivered and exceeded every expectation.
The Solar Punk team demonstrated an astounding level of expertise in everything from logo design to coding to user experience to SEO, and every aspect of the project was considered in a thoughtful and professional way. I especially appreciate the way the SPD team understood and incorporated my ideas into the final product – and also helped to guide me in the instances where my own ideas were not fully developed. I would recommend this team to anyone.
